Yeah multiple malboro together is a pain, especially if you don't have ribbons for all of the debuffs. From what I have read, the Gladio DLC is about 2 - 4 hours worth of content doing all the modes and the campaign. I think Mass Effect will take quite a bit longer. Either way, the DLC will still be around when you're ready to play it.
